How to extend Windows Phone 7 emulator’s functionality (unlock)

While programming to Windows Phone 7 (or another mobile device), very important instrument is the device’s emulator, integrated into development environment. Visual Studio 2010 supplies an emulator; while compiling & running our code (using either Silverlight or XNA technology), the emulator is running and creating an environment for our application. By the way, full Visual Studio 2010 is not must for development on WinPhone7; one can use a free environment “Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express” instead.

While activating the emulator first time, I was surprised: there is Explorer icon only! For some reason, Microsoft supplied very partial version of the operation system to emulator. See the picture:

Can we fix the situation? Sure! All we need is finding “WM70C1.en-US.unlocked” file somewhere in internet. After one has downloaded this file, he can store it within “%programfiles%\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.0\Emulation\Images\” directory as “WM70C1.en-US.bin”.
Attention: it is strongly recommended to backup the original file!
Remember, that the found file is crack, and there is no guaranty about its work. On the other hand, the result is looking great! Many functions are availible now:

So, everybody desides by himself, whether he needs this crack or not…Good luck to all.
